Hello and welcome! Ahlan w Sahlan!

At Oxford Middle Eastern Dance Society, we offer friendly and inclusive belly dance classes. In our weekly classes, you can learn both Egyptian style belly dance (Raqs Sharqi and Raqs Beledi) and American Tribal Style dance (ATS).

Our classes go from Foundation level all the way to a challenging Intermediate class, so whether you are  a complete beginner or an experienced dancer, we have something for you at OMEDS!

Belly Dance Classes

We also organise regular workshops on special topics, including folk dances, dancing with live music, high level technique, and much more…

Socials and showcases

Our annual Winter Showcase, held in early December, is one of the highlights of the Oxford belly dance calendar. With a great atmosphere and brilliant guest performers, it’s no wonder dancers travel from across the country to join us!

We also have a wide variety of social events for local dancers, including dinners, film nights, parties and more… To stay up to date with all of our socials, join our facebook group, or like our page 🙂

“The classes are relaxed and welcoming, challenging to those wanting to progress in their dancing but also fun for those who are there to get fit or socialise. To anyone who has ever thought about trying belly dancing I say sign up now! You won’t regret it.” – Jade, OMEDS student
